Happy Beltane!!

I love that clay doesn't have to look like clay.  These are some shots of my tree goddess.

Spring is officially here, with Beltaine, May first.  It may not be the equinox, but the tilt of mother earth makes the sunlight hit a certain angle on my south facing windows...it will let them be in shade the rest of the summer.  What a great design!  Cool in summer, warm in winter.

I've just taken my antibiotic...which the doctor said would be a good idea.  Since my sinuses were complaining, he's probably right (and of course that's his business, so I can give him the benefit of the doubt).  Doctors aren't always right, and they even hedge and haw a bit, saying it might be this or that.  If they hit the right prescription, and a condition clears up, they can say they're right.  I figure lots of conditions clear up anyway.  But I am not going to live without medical care again.  Thanks for being there to take care of my ills!

This will be a quick note...just wanted to wish everyone happiness in Beltane...I was browsing and saw some folks had kids dancing the Maypoles.  So I wanted to chip in that I did, back in the late 40's in Houston.  Then my youngest one did as well (in Gainesville, FL) in the early 80's.  I've done some research as to Maypole dancing, and am so glad that some folks carry the tradition on.  It may be phallic magic, but it's also a ritual of rejuvination of nature, which is worth letting our next generations know we still give reverence.  If we didn't, then nature might have something to say about it.

  1. perhaps I can blame my antibiotic medication on my earlier confusion that this was Spring Equinox. Naw, just confused, nothing new with that.
